The next evolution of accessing information
In today’s internet, search engines are used to serve the interests of advertisers more than their user, no matter what the company might say. When a user searches for something on a traditional engine, chances are that the top results are going to be of websites that paid for exposure. With blockchain and Web 3.0, however, user-focused search experiences can be possible again.
Neeva is a search engine that analyzes trillions of queries and billions of web pages in order to bring a search experience that focuses on serving users rather than advertisers.
Neeva.com is a traditional search engine experience where you can search for websites as you would now. Neeva.xyz is a brand new Web 3.0-specific engine where you can search for things in the Web3 space such as NFTs. Right now, it only supports NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, but support for the Avalanche, Polygon, and Solana chains is coming soon.
To build this search engine, a small team at Neeva developed processes to extract data from multiple blockchains, created data processing pipelines, combined it with their search engine code, and more to create a Web3 search experience that is faster than a blink of an eye, according to Neeva.
Many users, however, are confused on how Neeva can offer a personalized search engine experience while protecting privacy. The company believes that the two concepts are not dependent on each other. Search history is always deleted after 90 days, and all the data is decentralized so no outside forces can access your data without explicit permission from you. This way, the engine can be personalized while protecting your data.
