Aptos - making blockchain uncomplicated
Aptos is building the safest and most scalable Layer 1 blockchain. Β It is a people-first blockchain on a mission to help billions of people achieve universal and fair access to decentralized assets in a safe and scalable way. Aptos is a new, independent project to fulfill the vision of delivering the safest and most production-ready blockchain in the world.
While blockchains have come a long way, it is no secret they are still rife with confusion. The decentralization movement struggles to reach escape velocity because reliability, safety and usability can not be taken for granted. Collectively, these problems hold back adoption, from the average individual to the largest enterprises in the world. A new Layer 1 blockchain is needed, one thatβs aimed specifically at solving these problems. Aptos was designed with an emphasis on absolute safety, extensible scalability, and credible neutrality. Β
Aptos is using Move, the safe and reliable language. The Move language is designed to be used for safe resource management and verifiable execution on a blockchain. Thanks to its expressive specification language, it can verify the properties of Move modules, thus ensuring resources are well kept and making sure there is no possibility of them being copied or accidentally destroyed. Aptos aims to resolve one more significant issue in the blockchain world: making key recovery safer and more accessible. To achieve that, it allows the accounts to rotate their private keys.
One of the most surprising things about Aptos is that the company is working to achieve 130K TPS (transactions per second), thanks to the parallel execution engine (Block β STM). This also leads to lower transaction fees for users.
Mohammad Shaik and Avery Ching are the co-founders of Aptos. Aptos has raised a total of $350M in funding.
