Ready Games - mobile blockchain games in the mainstream
Ready Games has launched a division to bring mobile blockchain games and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to the Apple and Google app stores. The aim is to create a new ecosystem that democratizes access to web 3 game development. Ready’s ecosystem could help enable existing mobile game developers to convert their web 2 games into web 3 games while still staying in compliance with major app store rules. Ready Games is doing that by launching its developer tools and $AURA token that can be used across a number of games and companies. Ready’s vision is to incentivize web 2 game programmers to explore and switch to web 3, with minimal development time and cost, while distributing games “as normal” through traditional app stores.
The product feature includes providing all the infrastructure required to manage players and the elements of a developed social game economy, allowing for the quick deployment of casual PvP multiplayer games. Cross game interoperability allows a person to switch between games while maintaining their identity, buddy lists, and acquired items like “cosmetics” (skins, accessories, clothing), “achievements,” and so forth, all consolidated into a single persistent profile. The success of many “free to play” games depends on the successful implementation of a user-generated content market. Creators are compensated for their work by advertising their works for sale, with the host game receiving a share of sales, for everything from customizing game levels and goods to making avatar cosmetics.
Developers of mobile games benefited from integration timelines of just five days in Ready’s Alpha version, from web2 to web3. Ready welcomes artists, who can produce and post clothing, accessories, and other items that can be bought, sold, and exchanged within its games, with indirect benefits for players. By developing a Play and Own environment, Ready enables users to purchase items using traditional in-game currency.
David Bennahum and Christina Macedo are the co-founders of Ready Games. Ready Games has raised a total of $14.6M in funding.
